Reaching For Clouds

Young eastern cottonwoods have put down roots in a field here at the high point in New Hartford. What you can’t really make out in my picture is the clear view east all the way to the Metacomet Ridge. Instead, the saplings bring the view up to the sky. The clouds stamped with leaf shapes seem to say, “fall is in the air.”
