I took the mountain bike with camera yesterday into Great Mountain Forest in Norfolk CT. Again, the sky plays a role; peeking out behind the maples, and reflecting in Wapato Pond below an American Chestnut sapling, with a seed pod suspended in mid-air.
As was the case in the previous group, the goal was not knife-edge contrast and saturation, but autumn rendered in a softer language. Deep skies and shadows…color from the past more than the future.
Wapato Pond looks like a nice place to stop by and inhale the autumn atmosphere. Enjoy the moments! 🌞
Wapato is a fine spot; about as far from pavement as you can get in this state

Many thanks Philip
Hi John and thanks for your beautiful photos! Wishing you a great New England Saturday…😊⭐️🎶🍻🎶⭐️😊
You as well. Are you feeling the effects of the hurricane? Hope the damage is minimal in FL
Hi John and thankfully for us nothing this far south! Hope north of us the damage will be minimal, too! Thanks!
These are nice. I like to play with light, so I understand your quest with softness. We’re having some really nice autumn colours over here, too (in Finland, northern Europe!)
Thanks Snow. Happy to hear Finland’s fall is in progress 🙌
These are great pictures . On long Island nothing has changed yet still waiting for fall colors
Thanks… a few weeks away, I guess 🤔
Haven”t seen Autumn for many years. No aurumn here in Lima and always travel at the wrong time of year. All the more reason to enjoy your creations.
Thanks, Geoff. I didn’t realize that about Peru 🤔
