Foxglove was the flower in the Van Gogh portrait of Dr. Gachet when his was in the asylum at St. Remy. Foxglove is what they use to make digitalis which was being administered to Vincent. It also causes swirling hallucinations which a theory has it why Starry Night has the swirling stars.
I’m happy that you noticed that, since it was the initial inspiration for the pictures. I also liked the way that there seems to be a story back there in the bokeh as well

Yes,,,,contour over colour. In so many flower photos the colour “outshines” the beautiful shapes.
