Chippens Hill Woods

Yesterday’s walk through a wooded ravine in Burlington yielded a group of files that I hadn’t visualized in monochrome. There’s still color in the woods, especially on the ground where fresh leaves have made their final fall. But this morning while sipping coffee at 5 am, I saw the pictures with different eyes. Deep sepia and grain; clearly the right decision because the mood in the pictures aligned with the mood of the walk.

The new group needed an arrangement. After a bit of tinkering, I stumbled on four in a row (putting the verticals between horizontals). This came as a bit of a revelation. There’s a curiosity about what happens with various shapes of pictures in groups, and I hadn’t yet discovered this particular “chart.” It will create some tension when viewed on mobile because it defies the tendency to scroll. In my view… that’s a good thing.
