My initial impression was a positive, summery feeling, even though it was a negative film 😁. But then, when the second one appeared, a tension emerged between the tones of the water lily’s leaf and its flower—especially given the bold cropping.
Good comment. For the record, I shot them as squares in color which has its own appeal but I wanted to try a few in sepia. For me, this one does have some unease with the aging soft-focus petals seen at the top of the bloom. The picture from my second post is in focus north to south.
