   1. …and a fine comment and question. These days, I find a lot of meaning in pictures where notions of subject and background melt away. I think Ornette Coleman had a way of looking at harmony, melody and rhythm that way: equal players

3. Well, this wasn’t a big deal, I see, the pale color scheme appeals to me a lot.

   1. It appeals to me as well. I try to ask myself if there’s a scheme that says more rather about what I’m feeling rather than less. When we were younger, it was kind of limited by the what was handed to us by the film. And as you probably recall, many of those films had bias.

      Now everything’s at play.

      Sometimes you find the scheme; other times you miss

      1. Yes, the choices are much greater today. To adjust the right mood afterwards, a toning down that perhaps appeals to the nostalgia in us who experienced the whole technological shift. But I no longer miss the lottery when the bag from Kodak came with developed film. In this triptych, I think there is a mystery in the forest-like natural tones that trigger.

5. I love the milky fluid of the background so that the photos almost pan in and out between semi-realism and elsewhere

6. These are flooded with the luxury of light. And pokeweed! So prosaic. I love it. The “secret” angle and subdued colors seem to be holding some mystery.
