Love this color combination and then the hole, that contrast with the shadow edge becomes a painting within a painting and gives the image that extra depth. Always wondered about rust, how the material gets a tone of earth and soil. A bit strange, but that’s where it ends up in a dissolved state.
‘Portal’… 😀 Certainly to a total different universe. It reminded me of ‘De Sjef van Oekelshow’, an absurdist, Dutch, satirical TV program in the early seventies. A recurring segment in that show was a door with a stone wall right behind it, and people kept running into it as in slapstick movies at every turn.

The view down. Many thanks, Philip ⭐
Hi John and great photo! Have a beautiful Sunday…😊🌟😊

That depth was a surprise to me as well when I invited the hole into the frame
Great! The photo reminds me of a map. We could meditate now about the meaning of that cutout in the landscape …
A map: I like that
love this!
Thanks Catherine, nice to hear from you

In general, we’d all stand to gain from a little more absurd
