Yesterday when the sun came out (and the breeze picked up), the branches began to shed the snow in huge veils. It was an engaging hour shooting these scenes, and I gave them all a treatment resembling cyanotypes: desaturated, cyan-tinted with warm-toned highlights. Happy you liked! 🔷
This is the first winter I’ve spent up north away from the coast. There’s been a lot of light situations I’m not accustomed to. Appreciate the comment 👋
I see and understand your delight in such a natural spectacle. There is such an authenticity in all these images that no AI in the world could come close to portraying. I would love to view the entire series of images on the wall in a large, bright room. They remind me of countless ski trips through snow-laden forests that sweep down before my eyes (and down my neck) without warning. I close my eyes and enjoy!
Thanks for such a generous comment. It makes me feel happy that they evoke your many ski trips, and I imagine the Swedish wilderness in mid-winter must be glorious. I actually had several of those unexpected sweeps of snow down my neck yesterday while shooting these.
We’ve had around 2′ snow altogether so far. As you may already know, the western half of North America is having its warmest winter on record

Snow is not easy at times esp with lots of light. I love the atmosphere you create!
