I found these jagged ice forms recently in Leadmine Brook (Roraback Wildlife Management Area in Harwinton). It may sound odd, but they do resemble the migraine auras I’ve been experiencing most of my adult life, albeit with less scintillating effects and color.
The rivers have been presenting a different wintry face with every visit, depending on the temperature and strength of current. There’s another winter storm in the queue for this evening.
Great picture captured of the jagged ice.
Thanks Phyllis; happy you liked it

…so true
Doesn’t seem strange – I’ve read about jagged shapes like that in migraine auras. For me, it was different and not as clear, more of an all-over queasiness and sensitivity. The actual pain mostly began around the right eye and I’ll still get that sometimes but real migraines are pretty much in the past. I wish it were so for you.
The photo reminds me so strongly of a cutout shape against a background, it’s surprising that everything lined up like that – the smooth ripples, the shadows, the bright, detailed ice shapes. Very wow! (Don’t hate me if I say this would be perfect for framing a good noir book title on the jacket.) 🙂
If you write the book, it’s yours for the taking 😊
