Thanks. Surprisingly, I had to look those guys up (as well as their album). Mid-70’s I was a becoming a bit of a rock ex-pat; having been lured away to jazz 😊
In the early 70’s they were part of the very creative British Rockland 10cc. I was a big fan. Their Wallstreet Shuffle is still actual.. When things became too commercial Godley & Creme left 10cc and went on as a duo. I still have their first and 2nd album, Freeze Frame on vinyl. They also made brilliant videoclips when that started. Jazz never really got to me, although I listened a lot to what was called jazzrock overhere, with bands like Wheather Report; Return to forever; Chick Corea; Herbi Hancock. 👍🎶✋
I just played Wallstreet Shuffle; never heard it before. Interesting that this band was below my radar, because I listen to a lot of music. I can see how they influenced quite a few musicians and singers.
I was fortunate, I guess, to be in the NYC suburbs during the 70’s. I saw many of the great names of jazz in Manhattan before they died. And I spent a lot of money on vinyl (most of which I still have)
…good to see that both of those guys are still with us. Here’s a link to the song Harrie referenced, for anyone interested:
Beautiful, John. Seeing that pretty bubble shape in the ice, other people might look for a pristine background (or make one!) without detritus or other colors. I think the needles and warm hues serve the image to good advantage. And this is one of those winter images with a restrained palette that’s filled with colors, unnameable colors, once you look carefully.
Thanks. I like the idea of unnameable colors. I might have to steal that from you 😊
Having spent just an afternoon with Harrie and gotten to know him online as well, I can see how he would have liked that song back in the day, maybe as much for the lyrics as the music. (Not familiar to me either).

Good morning and many thanks, Philip! ❄
Godley&Creme?.. Fine shot, John!
