How do you manage to capture such unbelievable atmosphere and depth of field, John? Do you use a medium format camera? A photographer’s dream is this!
Thanks so much, Ule. I used medium format film cameras for years, but made the change to digital in 2010. This picture was taken with an OM Systems OM 3 which I’ve been using since March. The picture was a little contrasty, so I did work on it. The way I was trained was to aim for subtlety in the midrange. In this case, I think that’s where the nice atmosphere is.
Thank you, John, for explaining your process. So the good old Olympus is it again that tops the rest. In my pre-digital life, I used the OM1 and OM2.
The OM Systems OM 3 was actually designed to look like your old OM 1. In my pre-digital life I started out with a Minolta
That’s the way I would like to see it.
Me too
great black and white photo captured
Thanks Phyllis!
