Burlington CT
The last image from the Burlington state hatchery returns to one of the trout pools bathed in sunlight. The cooler-toned palettes from the previous two images were photographed in shade. There’s a lot of fish in these pictures, so the images can be clicked for a full sized file. Hope you enjoyed the swim ☺️

You were right about opening it up full size. Moving round the photo, what shapes and movement!
I’ve noticed the same… WordPress mystery
I feel like I’m standing in a museum in Northern Europe, staring at an Old Master. This is superb. There’s just the right amount of detail to maintain a sense of flow and entice the eyes inward. I also like the way the background seems to recede so far into the distance.
Oh yes, I enjoyed the swim!
Put simply, your comment on this picture made me feel the project was very much worth the effort. For that: a big thanks
This one’s my favorite. Something that amuses me (there’s so much to see here!) is the light blue reflection at the lower left with black lines in it – the lines made me think of cracks in the paint on old oil paintings and when I looked closely I think I saw a reflection of a chain link fence. 🙂
That similarity to thick brush strokes was an unexpected pleasure. There are reflections of netting in the pictures. It’s strung over the pools to keep osprey from stealing fish 🙂
Netting to keep the birds away, that makes sense! I think another thing that really makes this appealing to me overall is the preponderance of curves, soft curves like those a hand or arm might make in space while doing any number of things.
