Remarkable texture and detail. Like roots and filaments from a horror story. Inside a fruit.
Thanks. Sometimes a sharp 8″ knife is as important as the camera 😏
It’s almost an abstract image. Very nice, John.
Many thanks Ken
Fascinating image, John.
Thanks for the visit Jane ⭐
This is one formidable squash! Really beautiful, John. I love what happens toward the edges of the squash and the edges of the frame. Have to say it again, beautiful.
Thanks; appreciate your take. The edges make this picture more interesting for me as well and I was surprised at how the receding focus filled in those enveloping shadows looking something like black formica. 😏
Escorting the file to monochrome was another surprise. The more I leaned into it, there was a sense that I was looking at a very strange shade of beauty and time has taught me that feelings such as those mean it’s time to stop and save the work.
Black formica, or you could get all zennish and say formless form. A strange shade of beauty – nice.
Was this made with the new lens? Was it fairly wide open? Whatever it was, there’s magic there.
Yes, this was taken with the new lens wide open at f1.4. I’ve been using it for all my images since I came back online except for “Alewife Brook.”
