This suite of three photographs was taken during the 90% solar eclipse that visited Montauk NY last year. The isolated stretch of beach faces Block Island Sound, two miles west of Montauk Point.
Work on my galleries continues through February and March. Link below, if you’d like to visit:
They remind me somewhat of Martian landscapes the Rover explorer has captured – must be the effect of the solar eclipse (and yes I am enjoying your galleries)
I was indeed the Rover for this expedition, although the one on our neighboring planet has enjoyed a far superior grade of isolation. Thanks again for having a look, Laura. Since it’s stories I’m trying to put together, your visits are appreciated all the more.
I’ve just completed my third trip through your galleries, John. They make me want to be a better photographer.
Many thanks Ken. If I tried, I couldn’t ask for a nicer comment.
what template do you use for the blog John? Im looking around for a new one, it is simple and real nice
I think you mean theme rather than template? I’m using “Tonal,” but I did have to pay for an upgrade last year in order to be able to use CSS with it. Without CSS, there was a long list of modifications I wouldn’t have been able to make.
It is ‘theme’ indeed
I recognize that eerie glow from partial eclipses I’ve experienced – and I respect you for managing to capture it. The large boulders seem to float! I hope all’s well with you all – thinking about you!
p.s. Light Stations! Spice!
I just dipped in a little – don’t want to get overwhelmed with images.
Thanks Lynn ✍🌟
