I’m a big fan of your choice here to show just a segment of the rainbow. It must have been a temptation to go for the traditional arc shot. But this composition is so much more interesting. Also very taken with the hazy mountains in the background, rising over the plain
I used a 90mm (35mm equivalent) for this picture, a focal length I’ve enjoyed since the film years. Although it’s considered more of a portrait lens, it can do interesting things with landscapes. Here, it may have helped with a more unexpected reading of a rainbow and definitely increased the sense that those were large mountains. Thanks for commenting
Interesting. I wouldn’t have seen this as a telephoto perspective, but it’s very effective.
Wonderfully droll with that title. That strange object was a good find – do you have any idea what it was for?
It was a billboard, but I can no longer recall why it’s facing that direction. Happy you liked the title… maybe there’s a metaphor? ✍☺
What a powerful image. Like heaven and earth. Quite curious to see the other side of the billboard.
Now that I’m thinking about it, I’m pretty sure I crossed the road to position myself behind the billboard to get this image. But I can’t remember what the subject of the billboard was — so a mystery it will remain 😊

That’s the type of shot I wish I had taken. Excellent!!!
Thanks 😊🖐
There is a vague part of a 2nd rainbow just above the upper-middle of the billboard; as if the board reflects the rainbow that it’s facing. Great shot!
Thanks. I noticed that 2nd rainbow a few days ago when I was editing. Since I only took one shot at this place I’m guessing the sun went behind a cloud immediately after I took this picture.
This one made me smile. I love that the photo is about the sign with the rainbow being what the sign sees. Your title helps that notion along.
That’s what I was thinking as well. Couldn’t say it better. Thanks for commenting!
