The image is like a two dimensional painting with extreme layers of darks and lights. With every gradation of grays in between. A fantastic shot. I can imagine Velasquez’s figure from Las Meninas in the background.

When we were in Northern Europe we traveled by train a lot and the only houses we saw that weren’t absolutely perfect were down by the tracks – seen by us as the train left the station.
That is really interesting. I would’ve guessed it was a distinction unique to us.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you could find the same thing in China.
