That split – I have the urge to press it between finger and thumb to “zip up” the barb but at the same time, it makes the eyes stay in the photograph. The blurring all around the edges, especially on the feather & hand – it’s beautiful.
The bleeding of those shadows is my favorite thing here, and I’m glad you mentioned the “split,” as it anchors my attention as well (and my son mentioned the same). It seems to be an aperture of sorts, opening into that soft-focus world beyond.
That’s a good way to think about it. And it surprised me when I looked closer that even the feather blurs toward the top. Haven’t you made other photographs of you holding things like leaves or?? I bet you have a series there if I remember right.
Yes, some leaves. Just as the pandemic was beginning, I think there’s one of my hand and a radar installation. Can’t recall if I posted that or not…
Sounds familiar. 🙂
I checked using my own search bar (now there’s an idea). Sorry Lynn… never posted it.
🙂 Someday maybe you’ll put them all together…if that works.
it’s such a handsome feather. I’d like to see the bird that lost it.
A wild turkey; a species which, after being reintroduced, has made a respectable comeback.
Interesting picture liked it
Thanks 🌹
Wer musste da denn Federn lassen 🤣!
