The porch and the reflections! Intrgued by the photo with the flag and gravestone!
That little flag (commemorating the death of a revolutionary war soldier) had slipped between the tombstones. I don’t have the habit of looking for metaphors, but for me, the picture evoked something of the unfortunate political divide currently inhabiting US politics (and a good part of the rest of the world’s, for that matter). Too often, the flag is used here to underscore the hate and intolerance and that we should’ve begun to shed at this point in our history.
