Beautifully put together. I can’t get over the strangeness (to me) of those colors.
As I mentioned a few days ago, the eastern shore of Napeague Harbor has a very colorful array of sands created by groundwater leaching out iron deposits from Hither Woods. I don’t know of another area on LI that looks like it, although there’s a few spots in Montauk with unusually colored clays in the bluffs (totally different thing going on there than in Napeague). I’ve heard these colorful clays can be seen on Martha’s Vineyard as well.
I’m sure you’d enjoy all the above. 🙂
I did remember what you said but the color still seems strange – you’re right, I’m sure I would enjoy seeing it. Maybe we’ll get back to NY this year…
