Beautiful photo.
Thanks 🌟
So dramatic, especially the way that sea fades away in darkness.
…a wild conclusion to the day…snow squalls and sunset.
Breathtaking shot, John.
thanks so much Ken
Fantastic Photo 👍
Thanks. Good to hear from you ✍
Gorgeous atmospheric lighting in this one. A great capture!
Thanks Mike. It was a once-in-a-year sky show. And I almost didn’t go down there because it was freezing.
Wow! Now, I’m not a religious man but damn if this serene at the same time powerful image doesn’t look like the second coming of the lord. Bravo!
Thanks Ed. I don’t know about that 2nd coming, but those clouds released the first snowflakes of the season in this neck of the woods.
These recent colour shots give such a mood including both calm and movement.
Nicely said Geoff. Appreciate the comment!
Excellent John! Enormous space and closeness in the soft lightspot in the front.. and then you had to run for shelter.. 🙂
I ran for my car and then to a hot shower. Thanks Harrie ✍
🙃👍✋
this time it was the sky that took my attention – like an enormous pair of lips about to proclaim something
Thanks Laura 😄
beautiful
Good to hear from you– thanks
A masterful image, John. It’s one thing to be there at the right time and press the shutter but quite another to make something with this much beauty, resonance, and drama. The storm in the distance seems so far away and the light in the foreground is so gentle but the connection between the two is clear. The whole wave series has been great!
Many thanks, Lynn. A friend mentioned last summer that he’d begun thinking of me as an expatriate due to the scarcity of beach photographs. Hopefully I can dispel that notion by year’s end.
Funny! You’ve already earned back resident status.
Wonderful!! So dark and ominous but with a warm (color, not air, temperature 🙂) brightness to balance it. I have enjoyed this entire series of wave photographs.
As I mentioned to Lynn, I haven’t been on the beach with a camera in six months. It’s interesting how taking a break like that can recharge one’s vision and give familiar scenes a fresh look. Much appreciate the comment, Mic. Thanks!
