Beautiful! I could look at this all day. It feels serene.
Good to hear from you again, Mike. Many thanks.

Beautiful light in the wave!

Hydrogen and oxygen, so simple pairing with clear transparency. Wish there was equal transparency between people. But we are probably a bit more complex in our composition. However, we are made up of 70 percent water, so maybe there is hope.
I almost wish your comment was longer. With two wars raging, the news barely mentioned the planet’s alarming step across the 2 degree warming threshold. Your words make me feel like there’s some hope, despite a mountain of evidence to the contrary.
It’s not that often that such a golden glow is achieved in a photo.
Thanks. As I mentioned to Phyllis below, we’re uniquely situated on the island so that as winter approaches, the sun rises behind the break. The “pond” is two miles away from my morning coffee, so getting there isn’t too much of a task.
That sounds like a privileged living situation. Enviable for sea lovers like me who have to drive at least 300 km to their dream destination.
After 35 years here, the off-season beach is much preferred.
No wonder π
If you’ve never been here, we’re situated on the eastern end of LI, about 100 mi from NYC. Like so many here, we’re year-rounders who found themselves landing here for employment; my wife recently retiring after 30 years of working for town government.
Thank you for the interesting information. Now I can picture a bit more the circumstances of your photography.
Another great picture of the ocean in the winter
Thanks Phyllis. Because of the southeast-facing shore on LI, we have a unique opportunity this time of the year. The sun rises behind the break creating some dramatic ocean backlight. In summer, you wouldn’t be able to take a picture like this. With all the criticism heaped on Long Island, we do have some things to be thankful for. π
Nice! Happy Thanksgiving π¦π
Thanks man. Appreciate all the comments this year. Best wishes to you and the clan.
this is such a perfect painterly photo
Thank you Laura. It is rewarding digging into these waves.

Mesmerizing…… but how?
Good question!
