Natural construction method versus complicated frameworks, one requires supervision and maintenance, the other renews itself. Hmm, my mind wanders.
I had a feeling I could count on you for an interesting comment. This structure’s only remaining purpose is its serendipitous use as a visual navigation aid for vessels well out at sea.
To your point, Osprey have found its bones a suitable place to nest during their renewal process. And ravens, who are recent arrivals here, are regularly found on top.
Great!
Along with your reply to Hans, this is a hopeful story. I love the juxtaposition of nature and the human-built.
Thanks, happy you find it hopeful; I like the juxtaposition as well.
Let’s focus on the small things.. Fine shot, John!
Thanks Harrie 🖐✍
Deep philosophical potential in here, combined with a photographer’s art, an unbeatable connection, John.
Many thanks. Putting the metaphor in the optic tends more toward a visceral thing for me, not so much an intellectual decision. But this scene was a little different because the decision for shallow focus turned that tower into an ominous skeletal presence.
It’s also worth noting that the motif of a tower behind something was still fresh after the discussion I had on here with Mic a few weeks ago about George Tice’s 1974 “Petit Mobil Station.” Scroll back to my “Route 4 Nocturne” if this is of any interest. I left a link there to Tice’s wonderful image.
Oh yes, it breathes the same spirit. Thank you for the link.
Really cool photo ^^;
Thanks Yolanda. Nice to hear from you again 🖐
