Hadn’t occurred to me but always a welcome association
Yes, rather creepy to me, too…I’ve never seen so many water striders.
Interesting…. I don’t get the creepy vibe but neither do I subscribe to the view that photographs have a universal meaning or interpretation. Roland Barthes wrote brilliantly about this in “Camera Lucida.”
We found these Water Striders along the flooded shore of a section of the Housatonic. It seemed like the Eddys were a place of safety because the current was so strong.
Can you imagine how dull the world would be if people all reacted the same way to what they see? 🙂
I never got around to reading Camera Lucida so I just ordered it – thanks for the prompt. 😉
That book isn’t perfect but it’s a sincere effort and some of his points are among the most profound things I’ve ever read about photography.
It looks interesting…
I’d love to hear what you think about it… keep in touch
A feeling of Alfred Hitchcock…..
