I don’t know about being at rest, they look pretty lively to me! Like waves, so much swirling movement. The grain does something interesting that I can’t put into words. It kind of puts a damper on the motion but still allows the eye to roam around. Symphonic! 🙂

They’re large and very nice in person. What always excited me about the drawings is the sense of volume that he got, just with lines. If you ever hear of them being shown, they’re worth seeing. And they’re such an interesting counterpoint to his big, abstract canvases & sculptures.
