Just gorgeous. That’s a new word for me – had to look it up and that brought memories from long ago, when I first heard about pines whose cones wait for fire. In the photo, the cone looks very tightly shut but the needles have a fiery feeling. Beautiful.
For our Pitch Pine habitat, a schedule of controlled-burns would be a catharsis like no other. Thanks for your nice comment.
