The inspiration for this image comes from something I saw 40 years ago when I was working as a ranger on Fire Island. In the checkpoint another employee had left a pen and ink stipple sketch of a clam in a little silver frame. All these years I’ve never forgotten it. 😊
Ahh, that makes sense. You did that memory proud – the off-center framing and like I said before, that soft shadow – those choices take it to another level. It doesn’t surprise me that a memory like that would linger.
