Thanks Lynn. I’ve been looking at this tree with some variation of Hans’ thoughts in mind for 30 years.
It’s so good to have those long relationships with things in your environment. I think of the old Tappan Zee bridge, that view driving into Manhattan. I saw it for years and it became a touchstone. But a smaller, more ordinary thing like a tree anchors one to the earth, too.
