There is a depression in the privately-owned woods about six hundred feet from this sign which, according to some, is the footprint of the Brady family cabin.
I might be wrong, but I suspect that this is the only highway sign in the United States commemorating a photographer.
Despite widespread acclaim for his work during photography’s formative years, Brady died penniless and blind.
A nice tribute, John.
Thanks Ken
Beautiful tribute, looking to the sky.
Thanks Michael – good comment.
The idea of looking up into the heavens like that was brilliant, with that transcendent light. It’s a fitting corrective to the tragic end that you described.
Thanks for such a nice comment Lynn
Wonderfully composed, stunning picture and tribute to one of the pioneers.
