  1. Very graphic. It must have been interesting to be there at this time of year. Also to think about the similarities and differences between Suffolk County and the southern Utah desert – the absence vs. presence of water, the openness of the landscapes, the grasses and vistas – I can think of lots of similarities but I’m sure it’s an adjustment for your eye behind the camera when you get there.

    1. It was interesting (and always an adjustment), especially since none of my trips there since the 70’s have ever been winter trips. I’ve been looking at lots of Pictorialism for the last year or two, so this time I was hoping to do something other than shoot pictures of intensely saturated red rocks.
