Looks like a white pine. I have a white pine and the needles tend to be very photogenic, as seen here.
Yes .. this one was out in the woods yesterday. It’s not a typical forest tree on most of LI but there is a White Pine forest of several square miles here in East Hampton, quite possibly a remnant from a colder climate.
I’m struck again by the similarity between themes of your snow images and beach images – wouldn’t that be a cool show – pairs of photos, like the one above with the marsh or beach grasses, the windswept snow and the sand dunes, etc.
