Whenever I’m shooting as much as I do on a trip, I think of my lenses something like musical instruments. Each has their own way of “playing” the scene, and each has their own sound.
The wide-angled music of the previous two images is replaced here with the more sedate feel of the normal focal length.

Apart of the accents of the musical lenses, you have a superb baseline! I like the comparison! What music does a long lense make?
Thanks Chris!
Considering the way it flattens perspective, a telephoto can take the sedate feeling of a normal focal length and create much more monumental “music.” At times, a telephoto can also convey a compelling sense of simplicity. Do you read the sound of your telephotos similarly?
Yep, I do
Look at Potala palace 🙂
For sure:

Magnifique cliché,en plus qui parle à nos yeux !
merci!
I’m loving the rhythm of this series so far – very exciting seeing it unfold.
Thanks for such encouraging words, Richard.
“I think of my lenses something like musical instruments. Each has their own way of “playing” the scene, and each has their own sound.” – Amen to that, John! This is exactly what photography is all about.
Thanks Malin. You make plenty of awesome music.
Nicely captured.
Much appreciated Eden.
Sweet.
thanks Lynn
Very good pic that celebrates the ordinary and overlooked and somehow triggers several senses besides the visual. I hear cicadas and maybe some crickets and birdsong and I smell sagebrush nearby.
thanks bro
