I really appreciate the composition, mostly, the two dark elements in the foreground, in diagonal corners—the contour of the foliage mimics the contour of the turkey’s back—subtle, subliminal. And then, of course, the fog-shrouded forest, all composed to lend a very delightful photo.
Thanks for such a lucid comment, John. Great to hear from you.
Yes, I agree, it’s a great composition. And the layers of foreground, middleground and background, and the tones: beautiful.
Thanks Ashley- comment much appreciated.
Wow, John. You did great with your turkey model 🙂
..uncommon cooperation.
Bonjour John,
Quelle belle photo. La composition est excellente et le brouillard nous emporte dans un autre univers. Bon week-end.
merci beaucoup Val. Vous êtes très gentil… Bonne soirée à toi.
Beautiful!
thank you Chris.
Wow!!! This is all kinds of wonderful, John.

Understated drama!

Stunning!
much appreciated Richard.
so great! 🙂 how did you come across it? there must be a story(?)
Wild Turkeys have made a nice comeback here– not rare by any stretch. I also got an image of three geese at the same field which I haven’t posted yet.
Even without the turkey, it’s such a pleasing image! The turkey brings a bit of fun, I think. Maybe it’s because they’re such amusing creatures.
Indeed they are.
Such a thoughtful looking turkey, standing there in the corner. A beautifully composed shot!
Thanks Patti– this bird was curious enough to stand still for a bit. I suppose I should’ve thanked him.
I think he’s thanking you with his best side.
Great composition and tone value controls. Hugely effective and evocative.
Hey thanks much Gary, nice to hear from you.
